Gartner Group’s thoughts on Agile
by Noffer on Jun.21, 2010, under Software Development
Came across this article and wanted to post a bit…
Gartner’s analysts (Thomas Murphy and David Norton) predict that by 2012 … “agile development methods will be utilized in 80% of all software development projects.”
… There’s a lot more good stuff to read on Agile in that article and others on his blog.

Couple of classics from Dilbert. Thank you Scott Adams and United Feature Syndicate in advance for not suing me for posting them. In fact, here’s a link to Dilbert.com for more funnies.

How to Setup Gravatars
by Noffer on Jun.13, 2010, under Wordpress
I thought that it was odd that the current WordPress version didn’t include gravatars. It turns out that they have been included since version 2.5. Here’s an article that I found on how to implement it.
What’s my Club Worth?
by Noffer on Jun.13, 2010, under Golf
I was just looking at the Sunday paper and noticed a new trade-in promotion at Dick’s. They are giving you and extra incentive to trade in your old clubs. Perfect timing for father’s day! So, they give you a link to the PGA Value Guide, but totally blew the link! Nice editing boneheads! It’s supposed to be http://valueguide.pga.com/, not a parked domain that appears to be something useful, but really is just owned by someone trying to extort some cash from the PGA.
When are you done?
by Noffer on Jun.02, 2010, under Software Development
So, today I wondered.. “When are you really done?”
You can define this in many ways. Its a bit easier to tell when my weekend bathroom remodel project was “done”, but even then, I could put some more time into it, eventhough its already done. Is it really worth it, would anyone notice if I puttied the last few brad nail holes? probably not, so I’m done.
What about software development. Done is a bit harder to define when you are writing software. I’ve just had a nice long discussion on what “done” is with one of my last stories (we use a form of agile here). Done is when my story overlaps with another story, or when clearly defined as hitting a boundry or cutoff. So, now I’m done!
